Children’s Books with a Lesson Help to Raise Kid’s Moral Awareness

While we don’t want to scold our children or bombard them with moral over tones, it is important to send positive messages that they can learn from as they read.  We can view it as filtering subliminal messages in their minds if you will.  Children are still little people whose values and lives are being shaped by the books that they read. 

Children’s books with a lesson are important for kids to read but the message should be subtle. It’s not hard to find the perfect balance in many of the stories out there.  Once you do, your child will delight in these kids books that offer adventure and valuable lessons.  It has to be fun, exciting, and provide a light message about how doing the right thing won’t hurt them at all. 

You can take even the most difficult subject matters such as racism, school bully’s, bad manners, unfairness, shyness, and a host of other issues in this world and make it interesting for them to read about. 

Sunny’s adventures is a children’s mystery book for the junior reader.  This story portrays Sunny as a very smart, inquisitive, optimistic child who clearly enjoys helping people and solving mysteries.  She cheerfully responds to her friend who is upset over her missing puppy, “Don’t worry Rita, I’m on the case.  We’ll put our heads together and figure out how to get her back.”  The book clearly teaches that it is good to help people by portraying a child that actually does it.

Children’s books with a lesson can really help parents with the all important job of raising morally intelligent and caring children.  There are so many sources of negative information that can seep through the minds of our young ones.  Children’s books with a lesson should be a welcomed platform for all parents to introduce to their kids.  Reading these sorts of books for themselves is really a strong way of letting the moral lesson resonate in kids minds as they grow and examine the difference between right and wrong.  Ideally children’s books with a lesson should do the following:

• Empower little ones to feel strong by doing something that is within their control such as thinking healthy thoughts, helping others, being nice, or conquering a fear.
• Make it clear to children what is right and wrong. It needs to show the wrong action and then it needs to clearly define what the right action is. It should teach them how to do the right action themselves.

Ultimately, children’s books with a lesson like Sunny’s Adventures, should feed our children the clear, positive messages they need in order to make good decisions in life as kids and eventually adults.
