There’s no doubt that picture books help to tell the story for children as they begin on their journey of reading – it actually serves as a great learning tool for them as well. Picture books literally paint a visual image for youngsters as they read about various characters and scenes in relationship to the stories.
With picture books, little one’s are able to use their imagination along with the actual written words they see on paper. This helps to vividly bring the characters to life and leaves a lasting impression in their minds even after the story is read.
In Sunny’s Adventures, a children’s mystery book, the black and white illustrations help to tell a story that is full of fun mysteries – it helps the action come alive right off of the pages of the book. Children will identify with the 8 year old character through the pictures that tell the story. As children mature, picture books become less of a necessity than what they were when they were younger. Picture books for children also make great holiday and birthday gifts. A book with no pictures and a great story may not excite younger readers as much.
