How many African American children’s books do you have in your children’s personal home library? Do you have at least 25 African American children’s books nestled on your children’s book shelves? If not and you want to start growing their culture awareness and openness today, please check out the list of the top 25 children’s books I came up with.
If you have any other books you’d like to recommend for the Top 25 Children’s Books & Best Illustrated Children’s Books list, I’d love to hear from you. I will list them in my monthly newsletter. Please email me the information and help to educate others about all of the great African American children’s books and other stories that are out there. This is important because you can’t just depend on the local chain bookstores to display these relevant titles all at one time.
You’ll see a couple on the shelves at best but of course, it’s not representative of all the great children’s books out there featuring black kids. Again, for African American children’s books, check out the online book stores that I found and don’t forget about your local independent African American book stores in your area.
I came up with this Top 25 list to help promote the African American children’s books that are out there but everyone may not be aware of them. I’m interested in all literature for children and believe they should be exposed to all sorts of different books for educational growth.
My main objective is to just get all children reading no matter what, so I will also be recommending all sorts of other books that I come across and are good picks for kids. Email me all of your suggestions and they will be featured in my monthly newsletter for everyone to see.
Our home is like a small bookstore in itself because of the hundreds of books that we own on our shelves. It’s so much in fact, that I opened up an online bookstore with Amazon and donated hundreds of books to my father’s church where he works with his youth ministry. If you have an abundance of children’s books, you can donate them to kid’s organizations, libraries, or give them away to younger family members to keep the cycle of reading circulating forever.
